Transforming the role of the government apparatus is a necessity for public organizations in the face of a new era of rapid industrialization. The challenge of transforming the government apparatus is influenced by the increasing technological revolution, globalization, democratization and autonomy. The role of government officials in public organizations requires the application of new characters from government officials such as strategic partners, administrative experts, workers’ fighters, and agents of change. This study aims to analyze the key factors that influence the transformation of new roles in the implementation of public organizations in Sajen Village, Trucuk District, Klaten Regency.
The results of this study indicate that a conducive organizational climate and good leadership have positive support for the transformation process of the role of government officials. On the other hand the attitude of the apparatus is an obstacle to the transformation process because of the reluctance of the apparatus to increase its capacity and capability. Although this research has limitations in terms of the broad scope of the object, the type of research used and the subjectivity of the researchers, but at least this research can provide an idea of how the transformation process of government officials, especially in village government.
